One of the top spots in town for beer in this emerging scene. Well-designed nice industrial space, farm implements and dark wood. Long communal tables and a long bar, with a fair bit of seating capacity, including a patio for when the weather is warmer. A dozen or so beers on tap, with flights of ny 4. It's strictly a tasting room and they don't accept debit card! You are welcome to bring your own food in to enjoy. Otto says; Great beer and amazing service. The staff are all easy to talk to and the different selection of beer each week along with their test batches make for an awesome selection.😜
Torque Brewing, 330-830 King Edward St
Open: Fri - Sun 12.00 - 23.00 Tues - Thurs 14.00 - 21.00
Torque it up! This place has great beer, and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly . Did you know you can buy food, from either a food truck outside or get a deliver and eat inside the bar. Located just a few minutes driving from the airport, this is a spacious, comfortable tasting room. They had 12 beers on tap, with flights of 4. Inside it's very nice, clean, warehouse/shop kind of look with lots of glass and roll up doors and silvers and greys accented nicely with some light wood coloured tables, log benches, and large wood barrels. All social distancing 😷with great space between tables and plenty of arrows on the floor. Otto says; Don't miss Torque...but note that you will probably enjoy the taproom space better when busy (and with live 🎸music if possible). 🤠
Nonsuch Brewing Co. 125 Pacific Ave
Open: Tues - Sat 12.00 - 21.00
This brewery is a lounge!! It's like a slice of London's Soho got teleported to Winnipeg of all places! Such a comfy vibe, with plush retro couches and gold umbrellas on the ceiling, and much more upscale than most breweries, but so approachable. The beer is great, the food is tasty. Good location in the Theatre district, former PEG location, but totally different. No food at the moment. Their beers are fantastic, usually higher ABV Belgian styles and they're doing them well. Otto Says; The vibe and atmosphere is cosy and inviting, the beers are great and approachable. 👊🏽
Trans Canada Brewing Co. 1290 Kenaston Blvd #1
Open: Wed - Sat 11.00 - 23.00 Sun 12.00 - 19.00
A big new venue set way out off the highway, about 20 mins driving, south of the centre, across from IKEA. A massive, warehouse space that is clean and well designed. A really great place for casual drinking and pizza! Trans Canada brewery have so many great options for drinks, including core flights and DIY flights. For those who do not like beer they carry wine as well. Their kitchen is small but they have a fire oven for some great pizza flavours including fig, perogy, classic pepperoni, and etc. They have quite a lot of sitting areas and sometimes live music too. Otto says; Highly recommend giving it a try and also supporting local brewery 🤩
Kilter Brewing Co. 450 Rue Deschambault
Open; Wed - Sat 12.00 - 22.00 Sun 13.00 - 19.00
Great spot in a residential ‘hood in the ‘Peg. They say in the ‘Peg that you either peg or you get pegged! This local brewery is well worth a visit. A large spacious area with a great variety of seating. Nice cosy tables for two, large benches for groups of 6-8 and comfy couches for the loungers. Their flight of four beers are well planned with clear indication on the order card which is which. Otto says; A cool 😎 atmosphere, mid-century modern meets tropical. Kilter specializes in tropical fruity hazy IPAs.
Brazen Hall Kitchen & Brewery, 800 Pembina Hwy
Open: Daily 11.30 - 23.00
One of the better brewery visits in town. A beautiful interior with an obvious Scandinavian, Viking inspired environment. Wood fills the casual space of this brewpub. A mix of open booths, high tops and tables, with a large bar in the middle. The couches around the fireplace are presumably awesome in winter? Friendly servers seem to know about the beers. Six of their own beers on tap. The atmosphere is relaxed during the week, but the place fills up on weekend evenings.
Half Pints Brewing Company, 550 Roseberry St
Open: Daily 11.00 - 18.00
A brewery that you can do a tour of with a cool taproom that is essentially a man cave! Lots of games about, pinball league and comfy seating. 8 taps and a few additional bottles/cans with a good mix of styles available today. Nice big couch in the corner and an old piano. High top tables. If you are lucky you will meet the owner/brewer and have a nice conversation.👍🏻 Otto Says; A long standing local brewery. Nice atmosphere and a great place to grab a quick flight of beer or catch a few games of pinball in the arcade! Knowledgeable staff always ready to answer any beer related question you may have.
One Great City Brewing Company, 1596 Ness Ave

What a fantastic spot to have in Winnipeg! One Great City Co's beers are served in this stylish contemporary bar with big tall ceilings and a bright space in a commercial reno. Located within a big strip-mall, this is more of a full-out restaurant, with plenty of seating, including a fair bit at the bar. Plus a heated patio out front. A dozen beers on tap, with flights of 4 available for $8++ during happy hour? A sizable food menu though, including some vegan options. Otto says A fun place to hang out for great food and decent beer. A bit over priced. Atmosphere is really nice.
Stone Angel Brewing Co. 1875 Pembina Hwy Unit 9
Open: Mon - 18.30 - 22.00 Tues - Sun 12.00 21.00 ?
Located a little out of the way, about a 15 min drive south of town. But a great place to grab a drink before the Bomber's game. Just a 20 min walk to the stadium and lots of parking to leave your car. Stone Angel is the main brewer here, but they had two other contract {Devil May Care and Kilter} brewers using their facilities at the time. Located in a strip mall, the tasting room is large and spacious, with a huge west-facing patio. About 10 house beers on tap, plus another 4 from the other brewers. Flights of 4 available. Also they have "Cider Wednesday" were they release a different small batch cider, and when it’s gone, it’s gone! No food served but they have popup kitchens, and food trucks! Otto says; Good service, cheap flights and happy hour, but more importantly events with other breweries. A bit out there but worth it if there is an event.
Sookram's Brewing Company, 479-B Warsaw Ave
Open: Wed- Thurs 16.00 -22.00 Fri - Sat 12.00 - 23.00 Sun 14.00 - 18.00
A comfortable brewery and taproom located two blocks south of Confusion Corner,
that opened at the start pf 2019. Quite a nice space. I was reminded of the many East Vancouver breweries in industrial areas. This totally fit the vibe. Really like what they've done with the interior. Tables are well spaced, which is nice given the existence of covid😷. Also a patio that is dog friendly Approx. 6 taps and the beers are all high quality. The head brewer is wonderfully friendly and knows what he’s doing. A small selection of beer snacks available but customers can get food delivered to the taproom or bring their own food. One of the highlights in Winnipeg’s up-and-coming craft beer scene. Highly recommended.
Oxus Brewing Company, 1180 Sanford St
Open: Wed- Thurs 16.00 -20.00 Fri - Sat 14.00 - 21.00
Oxus Brewing Company is a small independent brewery. Located in kind of odd location next to Garbage Hill. A small tap room and brewery. They offer a variety of styles, so you're sure to find something that appeals to you. Definitely worth checking out and not too far if you're doing a beer tour including Torque, Half Pints and others in the general area. Otto says; This brewery seems to be an amazing undiscovered gem.🙃
Little Brown Jug, 336 William Ave

A great fun small tasting room to the side of the large brewing facilities, to enjoy a pint. Indoor space is great. Not huge, but big enough. Outdoor patio as well. Friendly staff. Great tasting beer from 2 taps. Beer flights available and smaller snacks.
Lake of the Woods Brewing Company Winnipeg, 221 Carlton St
Open: Tues - Sat 12.00 - 21.00 Sun 12.00 - 18.00
This is "The Spot" downtown. Great environment, great beer, something for everyone. Their kolsch is a typical "serve with burgers and fries" a plain crowd pleaser. However their sour and IPA are delicious, powerful, yet smooth. This spot has a small indoor tap room with a nice patio outside with an outdoor 'beer van' with a tap.
Devil May Care Brewing Company, 155-A Fort St
Open: ?
Brought together by a mutual disdain for the lack of options in Manitoba’s craft beer industry, homebrewers Colin Koop and Steve Gauthier started brewing together in 2015. After exploring the buzzing beer scenes and craft culture outside their province, Colin and Steve saw the need to ignite that same passion and bring those same experiences back home to Winnipeg. Starting a collaboration with Stone Angel Brewing, the two craft beer upstarts launched Devil May Care Brewing in 2018, sharing space, knowledge, and experience with friends as a natural fit to start making their mark on their local beer scene. The first brews from Devil May Care will be ready in summer of 2018, and will be inspired by the combination of Brewer Steve’s traditional, science-based approach and Colin’s passion for creative ingredients and new industry trends. Come on in, have a beer, and live the dream with us.
