Opava, known as the white pearl of Silesia, offers visitors a range of monuments, from Gothic to architectural gems from the first half of the 20th century.
Opava, one of the historical centers of Silesia, presents itself as a town of parks and two towers. The first of these is the white tower, known as Hláska, adorning the Neo-Renaissance Opava Town Hall on Horní náměstí square. The second is the Gothic Church of the Assumption of Our Lady, built at the end of the 13th century by the Teutonic Order with its massive, steep roof and two spires, is a dominant feature of the town and visible for miles around. It is regarded as the largest building in the Silesian brick Gothic style in the Czech Republic; furthermore, the southern tower is, at 102 m, the highest tower in Silesia. For excursions in the surrounding area, why not visit the romantic chateaux in Hradec nad Moravicí, Raduň or Kravaře? You can also go for a round of golf in the chateau grounds or visit the Second World War Memorial in Hrabyně.

There are two brewpubs in Opava as of July 2022, so as is my norm! lets start with them:
Nová Sladovna, U Fortny 49/10, Opava, 746 01
Open: Mon-Thu & Sun 11-23, Fri-Sat 11-24
A cool place with a nice modern interior built in 2014. The brewkit is a main feature and it provides typical Czech minibrewery beers and styles: 10° and 12° světlý and 12° tmavý and occasionally special beers. Very nice place with good service and good beers even though the prices maybe too high for Opava? There is very little information about brewery and their beers on their website if you visit please email me an update Na zdraví.
Panský Mlýn, U Panského mlýna 267/28, Opava, 747 06
Open: Mon-Thu 11-23, Fri-Sat 11-24, Sun 11-21
Panský mlýn is a small brewery with a restaurant on the outskirts of Opava, where the village becomes a village and the village is already crossing the field. Located in a picturesque mill building from the end of the 15th century. The pivo bubbles away and smells delicious. The chefs love rural cuisine and not only the Czech cuisine. Well worth a visit.
