New Hampshire, a U.S. state in New England, is defined by its quaint towns and large expanses of wilderness. In the north, White Mountain National Forest is known for winter sports areas and Mt. Washington, the region’s highest peak, with a cog railway to its summit. Also in the White Mountains are moose, black bears and part of the Appalachian Trail. Despite its relatively small size, New Hampshire has a set of distinct regions spanning mountain ranges, lakes, seacoast, and the wilderness near Canada. Here is Otto's take on some of the better brewery destinations wherever you find yourself in the Granite State. Plus a list of the rest of the brew joints in the sate as of May 2022.
Portsmouth Brewery, 56 Market St, Portsmouth
An upbeat tavern and brewery serving pub fare with global accents plus house-brewed beer in cool airy digs with a patio. Located in downtown Portsmouth, in the historic section of town in a historic building, this place exudes 19th century New England industrialization. A nice big bar area with some high tops, booths, and regular tables. They also have a downstairs area for boozing it up.
They have a regularly changing rotation of beer, as well as a some local beers on tap.
Earth Eagle Brewings, 175 High St, Portsmouth
A convivial, compact brew pub in a nice homey converted warehouse space, featuring craft beers and casual grub, plus outdoor seating and live music. Located right downtown and just a few blocks from Portsmouth, this is a quaint little place. 10 house taps plus 4 guest taps. A small square bar area as you walk in. There's an outside beer garden with twice the space and most tables have shade. Good ambiance with a bunch of cool decorations hanging all over the joint. Food is absolutely fantastic, service is good, actually a really cool place to hang out.

Coös Brewing Company, 30 Bill Bromage Dr, Colebrook
Located in the heart of the Great North Woods, closer to the Canadian border than the capitol building, Coos serves a delicious variety of beers, including Snowbound Stout, a rich and subtle dark beer with cinnamon, or any of the Puckerbrush Berlinerweiss series. Just be aware, NH has different brewery rules than other states. So when you're there, you're allowed to order a flight (my go-to) or have a pint. They also have crowlers, growlers, and 4-packs to go. This won't be an all day brewery event, but it's a great pitstop to support a local business and enjoy great beer at the same time. You're also able to have pints of their beers at local establishments like Black Bear Tavern (Colebrook) and Buck Rub Pub (Pittsburg).

Flying Goose is at a crossroads in New London. The place has a ski lodge feel that works. A warm, easygoing brewpub with a fireplace and mountain views offering pub grub and house-brewed drafts. A very nice atmosphere and restaurant, fun place to have dinner on the pub side. The dining room is very spacious without people breathing down your neck. Very clean, friendly, huge menu with daily specials, the food is excellent. Try the Forever Locked Lager, a Vienna lager, whose proceeds go toward a New Hampshire Fish & Game scholarship.
Concord Craft Brewing Company, 117 Storrs St, Concord
Nestled in an old brick building, in close proximity to the NH State Capitol building which is a tourist attraction. This place has a nice ambiance. When you go inside there are a number of tables and counters that you can sit at and enjoy your 4-5 beer flight and look at the fermenting tanks in the back of the brewery. Friendly service. Great solid beer choice the highlight being probably the Old School IPA a proper British IPA.
Litherman's Limited Brewery, 126 Hall St Unit B, Concord
Tucked away in South Concord, on the backside of a business industrial complex not far off Exit 12 of I-93 and you have to be looking for it to find it. But once you are inside it is a nice set-up with 4-5 beers on tap at all times. A hidden gem! There are posters of their bottle labels on the walls. The bar stools have 45 RPM records glued and lacquered to the seat. There are many rotating self made craft beers on draft. The new Mexican lager is crisp and refreshing. Limited operating hours is a plus. Doesn't feel like you spent the whole night out! The staff love to chat about their beer. This brewery has a promising future.

A nice little spot tucked into the seemingly desolate downtown Ossipee. A beautiful tasting room in a totally rural area close to the ME border. Walk in the door to a square room with the bar taking up the far wall. The right wall is taken up by retail shelves and their are a smattering of tables in the room maybe 6 or 8. Samples from the bottles at the bar, a few taps and they do serve some food.

Located in an industrial strip mall off Rt 101A. Nice cosy surroundings, that let you know that you are there for the beer. A fairly small tap room with a small 4 seat bar and various tables. Mostly the picnic table variety. Some high top, some regular. Food is minimal, fulfils the letter of NH law. There are usually 7 to 9 taps, all their own beer, which is fantastic.

Odd Ball Brewery, 6 Glass St, Suncook
Odd Ball Brewing, is an amazing very small intimate brewery. They have a great selection of brews matching most palettes. Their Albino Moose is absolutely outstanding. Located in the small town of Suncook, you get that small town vibe. They don't try to be something they are not! It's in a converted old building with character on the outside and small entrance area. The other space is up in a loft, is small, has little in the way of decor and overlooks the brewing area/fermentation barrels. It's small and functional with a backroom feel as stuff is stored everywhere so don't come for the ambiance. This is ever so present If the owner and operator Bill is working. His sense of humour will keep you coming back!! A Must Visit.

The brewery is crafting up some amazing brews and the handcrafted drinks are also amazing. The bartenders are great, they look like they are having a great time. They have some great live music here. Great food. Simple but fantastic. Large portions. Excellent selection of in-house micro brew options. Every one better than the last. Service is very good, always available without hovering. Be prepared to wait for seating. It's worth the wait. Otto says; Regardless of season, the Lakes Region is stunning to visit.
